PhD Position at the Educational Technology Department at Saarland University, Germany (M/W/D)

Job description:

Multiple open PhD positions at Saarland University, Germany. With a special focus on our main research track, computer-supported collaborative learning, we offer research positions on

  1. Conversational Agents, Scripts and Awareness Widgets in Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning
  2. Micro-credentials
  3. Argumentative Knowledge Construction in Complex and Controversial Domains, e.g., ecoliteracy

The positions are set for the initial maximum of 3 years with excellent options for extension.

Your tasks

Your tasks at the EduTech Department include: 

  • Leading educational technology research projects
  • Designing learning environments and courses
  • Conducting studies; collecting and analyzing data
  •  Publishing and presenting studies at international venues
  • Teaching courses within the EduTech Master program

Your profile:

A Diploma or Master in the areas of Educational Technology, Education, Psychology, or Computer Science is required

Additional Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of research methods (incl. handling statistics software like SPSS and R)
  • Strong command of English
  • Interest in alignment with the research focus of the department on networked and computer-supported collaborative learning
  • Strong drive and commitment for conducting and publishing studies on instructional scaffolds
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate with academics from diverse backgrounds
