laraI am interested in how to use multi-touch devices for collaborative learning. For example, in the Proportion project, tablets were utilized as “tiny tabletops”, enabling two children to collaboratively construct an understanding of proportions. Exemplary results are that prompting for verbalization in such immersive learning environments improves the quality of children’s dialogue, but has adverse side-effects on task focus and emotions. Currently, I am starting to research adults’ collaboration on a tabletop and how to support it.
