In my PhD research, I am investigating how to use multi-touch devices for collaborative learning. For example, in the Proportion project, tablets were utilized as “tiny tabletops”, enabling two children to collaboratively construct an understanding of proportions. As an example of the study results we discovered that prompting for verbalization in such immersive learning environments improves the quality of children’s dialogue, but simultaneously has adverse side-effects on task focus and emotions.
In the ‘PIAF’ Erasmus+ project, we work on developing computational thinking skills for teachers and learners.
Within the EduTech master program, I am responsible for study coordination, and I am involved in teaching, primarily courses on research methods.
